Our Team is Our Family

We are able to manage custom projects so well because we are a small company. Each of us brings a unique set of skills to the table, and through collaboration and expertise we create a machine so efficient we remain competitive with outfits much larger than us, at a major cost benefit to our clients. Meet the Team.

Travis Grob

Travis is one of Salt Lake City's Premier craftsmen. Growing up as an avid climber in the Wasatch Mountains, he found himself with a knack for working with his hands. Travis rapidly became a foreman and project manager for a small residential/commercial remodel contractor. The opportunity to move from general craftsmanship in various trades to general contracting came via tragedy. Travis' best friend and climbing partner suffered quadraplegic paralysis and found himself with a home that didn't work for his condition. Using relationships he had with various subcontractors, Travis managed a pro-bono complete renovation of his friends home, creating not only a handicap-accessible home, but truly a work of art for the community, on his own time and his own dime. After 18 years of dedication to reliability, functionality, and beauty, Travis has a unique ability to solve problems, with an unconventional yet effective approach to general construction.

Tyler Frazier

Tyler is a huge voice of experience at Chimera with more than twenty years of challenging standards by raising the bar of quality in everything from plumbing to tile setting, and all the categories in between. Tyler began an apprenticeship with a master tile-setter, which led to project management, and eventually to company management of a local granite fabrication operation. Following a successful 7 year stint as owner of Bulletproof Construction in California, Tyler returned to his roots in Salt Lake City, where he spent a few months doing non-profit work helping to renovate a home for a local climber who had broken his neck. On this project, Tyler met Travis and the two struck a chord for working together. They founded Chimera Construction 8 years ago, and haven't ever looked back.

JOsh Cameron

Josh is the Project Foreman and lead carpenter for Chimera. Besides 15 years of custom homebuilding experience, Josh's background includes skillsets in every aspect of general construction. He is best known for his carpentry abilities and astonishingly artistic approach to seemingly innocuous spaces and decor, but his less remarked upon abilities are in organization and project management. His background gives him the ability to see how each phase of construction will layer with all the other phases, and manage it in a way that allows it to come together efficiently.
